Needles:  6-9, or whatever gets the gauge, 16” circular,
6-9 dpn (double pointed needles) for the crown decreases. You can use a cable needle or simply use one of your dpn’s for the cable row.

*Cabling just means moving a set number of stitches out of the way and then coming back to them.  You slip stitches onto another needle purlwise-as if you were going to purl them-and hold them to the front or the back of the work, while you knit the specified number of stitches off of your left needle then go back and slide your slipped stitches to the end of your “holding needle” and knit them.
Worsted Cable
Yarn:   70grams/ 140 yards worsted yarn, which yields
5 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch.

Needles:  5-8, or whatever gets the gauge, 16” circular,
5-8 dpn (double pointed needles) for the crown decreases. You can use a cable needle or simply use one of your dpn’s for the cable row.
